Familiarization with the progress of construction work at the Shusha mosque

On June 23, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow inspected the construction progress at the Shusha Mosque.

The mosque, whose foundation was laid by the President of Azerbaijan in 2021, is being built as a new modern symbol of the historic city. Constructed in the shape of the number 8 as a symbol of Victory Day, the mosque will consist of the main and administrative buildings, as well as separate ablution facilities for men and women.

The mosque’s two minarets, each rising to a height of 73 meters, will symbolize the number 11, commemorating the liberation of Shusha in the eleventh month of the year. The exterior of the complex will feature geometric patterns inspired by the minarets of Shusha’s historic mosque. The construction of the mosque is being carried out with the support of Pasha Holding.
