Visit to the House Museum of Bulbul in Shusha

On June 23, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow visited the house-museum of Bulbul in Shusha.

The house, where Bulbul was born and spent his childhood, was converted into the House-Museum of Bulbul by a decision of the Executive Committee of the Shusha City Soviet of People’s Deputies in 1982, upon the instructions of the National Leader. The building was renovated in 1982–1983, a museum exhibition was established, and an administrative building was constructed in front of it. During the occupation, the house museum was subjected to Armenian vandalism and ceased operations.

Following the liberation of Shusha from occupation, restoration of the house museum began, and a new bust of Bulbul was erected in the courtyard. At the same time, the bust, which was vandalized during the occupation of Shusha, is also kept here as visual evidence of the crimes committed by the Armenian occupiers against our cultural heritage.
