Inspection of the destroyed areas of Fuzuli city
On June 23, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow viewed destroyed sites in the city of Fuzuli.
The city of Fuzuli, which was completely looted and left in ruins during the Armenian occupation, had its Master Plan prepared shortly after its liberation from occupation, and it was approved by the Head of State. With its significant transport and logistics potential, Fuzuli is located at the intersection of the main transportation routes of the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions. According to the city’s Master Plan, which covers an area of nearly 2,000 hectares, Fuzuli is expected to have a population of 50,000 by 2040. Rebuilt in accordance with modern urban planning standards, Smart City concept will also be applied in Fuzuli.
Esteemed guest was also informed about the mosque being built by Turkmenistan in Fuzuli. The mosque complex, which covers an area of more than one hectare, will feature two minarets, each 40 meters high, while the main dome will rise to a height of 30 meters. The mosque will be able to accommodate 500 worshippers at the same time.
