Visit to the village of Guzeykhirman

On July 11, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited the village of Guzeykhirman in the Khojavend district.

The villages of Guzeykhirman and Guneykhirman are located within the administrative territorial units of the same names in the Khojavend district. The villages were occupied by the Armenian armed forces in 1992 and were liberated during the anti-terror operation conducted in 2023.

Guneykhirman village has a total of 549 individual houses. Of these, 170 are beyond repair, while 379 are partially usable. Fifty houses have already been restored and made ready for occupancy, and repair work is currently underway on 147 houses. Preparatory work is also being carried out for the restoration of the remaining 182 houses. A few days earlier, 18 families (72 people) had returned to the village.

Guzeykhirman village has 447 individual houses. Of these, 65 are beyond repair, while 382 are partially usable. Restoration work has begun on a total of 244 houses, of which 100 have already been made ready for occupancy. Work on the remaining 144 houses is expected to be completed in the coming months. Preparatory work for the restoration of the remaining 138 houses is also underway. During the initial phase, 21 families (87 people) returned to the village.

The Head of State visited the house of Isa Gozalov in the village of Guzeykhirman, then met with residents who had returned to both villages. At the end, commemorative photos were taken.
