On May 17, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko visited the House-Museum of Bulbul in Shusha. The President of Belarus was briefed about the museum.
On August 31, 1982, based on the instructions of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the Executive Committee of the former Shusha City People’s Deputies Council decided to turn the house—where Bulbul was born and lived—into a museum. The building was repaired in 1982–1983, a museum exhibition was set up, and an administrative building was constructed in front of it. The house-museum ceased operations during the First Karabakh War in 1992 due to Armenian vandalism. After Shusha was liberated, restoration work was carried out at the House-Museum of Bulbul, and it was reopened on August 29, 2021.
