Visit to the exhibition “Mir Mohsun Navvab Garabakhi – Encyclopedic Scholar of the 19th Century”

On May 10, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and family members visited the exhibition “Mir Mohsun Navvab Garabakhi – Encyclopedic Scholar of the 19th Century” in the madrasa building located on the territory of Yukhari Govhar Agha Mosque in Shusha.

The exhibition, dedicated to Mir Mohsun Navvab Garabakhi, a prominent figure of the Karabakh literary environment, a talented poet, painter, musicologist, philosopher, and educator, showcases his personal weapon collection, which reflects Azerbaijani weaponry art of 18-19th centuries and is preserved at the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan, also books authored and illustrated by poet, as well as published at his printing house in Shusha, additionally, items reflecting his work in music, chemistry, and astronomy are on display. The exhibition includes tables and diagrams created by Navvab related to the positioning of celestial bodies and solar eclipses, highlighting his interest and contributions to the field of astronomy.
