Visit to Sos village

On September 14, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited the Sos village of the Khojavend district.

In Sos village, which came under Azerbaijan’s control during the anti-terror operation conducted by our Armed Forces in 2023, existing electricity and gas lines, as well as sub-artesian wells have been restored. Two transformers have been installed, and the process of installing meters has begun. Three water reservoirs have been repaired, and a natural gas pipeline approximately 5 kilometers in length has been laid.

Out of 259 existing individual houses in the village, 70 are uninhabitable and 189 are partially usable. Currently, 10 houses are ready for use, and 10 families (46 people) have been resettled there. By the end of the year, 75 more houses are expected to be restored, followed by another 104 houses in 2026.

As part of the visit, the Head of State visited the home of Hamlet Gulmammadov, who has relocated to the village, and had a conversation with his family members.
