On September 14, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited the Shushakand village of the Khojaly district.
In the village, which came under Azerbaijan’s control as a result of the anti-terror operation carried out by our Armed Forces in 2023, a number of projects have been implemented to develop social infrastructure. Existing power lines, three water reservoirs, and a sub-artesian well have been restored, a transformer has been installed, metering work has begun, a gas pipeline has been laid, and the existing drinking water network has been repaired. A flag square has been built in the village, and internal roads have been asphalted. In addition, the project for communication lines has been approved. Preparatory work is currently underway in this regard.
In total, there are 263 individual houses in Shushakand, of which 91 are uninhabitable and 172 are partially usable. Currently, 15 houses are ready for use, and 15 families (59 people) have already been resettled there. By the end of this year, 85 more houses are planned to be restored, followed by another 72 in 2026.
