Unveiling Ceremony of the Mausoleum of Khurshidbanu Natavan

On October 4, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva unveiled the mausoleum of Khurshidbanu Natavan, a prominent representative of the 19th-century Azerbaijani romantic poetry, poet, artist, daughter of Khan.

In accordance with the implementation of the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev issued on March 14, 2022, which commemorates the 190th anniversary of Khurshidbanu Natavan this year, the Ministry of Culture has started work on the restoration of this tombstone.

The memorial of the poetess was sculpted by Kyanan Aliyev in accordance with its original form, made of gray granite, 350 centimeters high, and installed in its original place. The monument was built in Aghdam in 1982. Rafi Zeynalov who did the stonework for the memorial monument, which was designed by Eldzhan Shamilov, after 40 years undertook the same stonework for the construction of the monument.
