President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and their daughter Leyla Aliyeva visited Shusha, the cultural capital of Azerbaijan that was liberated from occupation on January 14.
As a result of the occupation of Azerbaijani lands, including Shusha, by the Armenian side, our historical and cultural monuments were destroyed, and home museums were looted. Busts of Khurshidbanu Natavan, Uzeyir Hajibayli, and Bulbul located in Shusha were among them. These shot busts are witnesses to Armenian vandalism. In one of his speeches, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said that after the restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, busts of Bulbul, Natavan, and Uzeyir Hajibeyli would be returned to Shusha. These words of the head of state have already become a reality.
During the visit, the busts of these prominent figures were restored in the previous places in Shusha with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and their daughter Leyla Aliyeva.
