November
On November 13, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Pia Kauma, the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
During the meeting, the head of state emphasized that new realities have emerged in the South Caucasus region. President Ilham Aliyev stated that Armenia had been attempting to perpetuate the occupation of Azerbaijani territories. The mediation missions carried out during the occupation were entirely unsuccessful and failed to eliminate the consequences of the occupation and aggression.
The President highlighted that Armenia has not fulfilled the obligations arising from the Statement signed on November 10, 2020, after the 44-day Patriotic War. Armenia has not withdrawn its armed forces from Karabakh, furthermore has deliberately transported to these territories military equipment, personnel, and landmines. Additionally, Armenia has not met its obligations regarding the establishment of a corridor between Eastern Zangezur and Nakhchivan. Currently, there are very favorable opportunities for a peace agenda in the region. President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that Azerbaijan supports sustainable peace in the South Caucasus and is committed to the regional peace agenda, the normalization of relations with Armenia, and the signing of a peace agreement.
