Raising the Azerbaijani Flag on the territory of the Sarsang reservoir

On October 15, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev raised the State Flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the territory of the Sarsang reservoir.

The Sarsang reservoir, of significant strategic importance, was originally constructed under the initiative of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. National Leader Heydar Aliyev personally attended the opening of the reservoir in 1976. The Sarsang reservoir is situated on the Tartar River, one of Azerbaijan’s most water-rich rivers. With a total volume of 560 million cubic meters, it is the largest water reservoir in the Karabakh economic region. The dam is 125 meters high, 555 meters long, and 10.2 meters wide.
