Raising the Azerbaijani Flag in Khojaly

On October 15, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev raised the State Flag of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the city of Khojaly.

Subsequently, the head of state inspected the area of the city. The city of Khojaly was occupied on the night of February 25 to 26, 1992. Armenian occupants committed one of the bloodiest genocides in history against the Azerbaijani people in Khojaly. As a result of this genocide, 613 peaceful residents were killed. The city of Khojaly was cleared of separatists as a result of local counter-terrorism measures carried out by the Azerbaijani Army in Karabakh on September 19–20, 2023.
