President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to the Pirjamal village in the Khojali district

On December 22, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited the Pirjamal village in the Khojali district and inspected the area.

Pirjamal village is situated in a mountainous region. The name of the village is derived from the historic Pirjamal shrine that once existed there. Historical sources indicate that this settlement was established by families who had migrated from ancient Beylagan. The village was occupied by Armenian armed forces in 1992. On September 19–20 of this year, the village of Pirjamal was cleared of separatists as a result of the counter-terrorism measures carried out by the Azerbaijani Army in Karabakh.
