President Ilham Aliyev’s speech at the Khankendi stadium

On December 21, at the Khankendi Stadium, a football match took place in the Azerbaijan Cup eighth final, between Aghdam’s Qarabağ FK and MOIK Baku clubs.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva came to the stadium to watch the game. After the Azerbaijani National Anthem was played, a moment of silence was observed to honor the memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

Before the match, the President delivered a speech, stating: “Regardless of the outcome of the game, the victor is already known. The winner is the Azerbaijani people, the Azerbaijani state! The match between Qarabağ and the Central Army Sports Club (MOIK) holds significant symbolic meaning. The unity of Karabakh, the Army, and the People is the main source of our Victory.”
