President Ilham Aliyev’s Meeting with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan in Khankendi

On July 3, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov in Khankendi.

Rashid Meredov conveyed the greetings of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow to the Head of State. President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings and asked that his own greetings be conveyed to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the President of Turkmenistan, and the brotherly Turkmen nation.

The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that the reconstruction and development work underway in Karabakh had left a deep impression on him and expressed admiration for the region’s natural beauty.

During the meeting it was once again emphasized that Azerbaijanis and Turkmens are two brotherly nations sharing common ethnic roots, history, and cultural ties. They conducted a comprehensive exchange of views on cooperation across various fields, including energy, transport, culture, humanitarian affairs, science, and education.  The importance of holding Culture Days of Turkmenistan in Azerbaijan and Culture Days of Azerbaijan in Turkmenistan was also underlined.
