President Ilham Aliyev received the Secretary General of the OTS in Shusha
On July 5, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Kubanychbek Omuraliev, in the city of Shusha.
Kubanychbek Omuraliev expressed his gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for the initiative to host the informal Summit of OTS Heads of State in Shusha and for the invitation to the event. He highlighted that the summit was dedicated to highly important topics such as transportation, communications, and climate change, and emphasized the necessity of further enhancing cooperation among Turkic states in these areas. He stressed the importance of multilateral collaboration in transportation and communications, noting his confidence that it would make a practical contribution to the strengthening of the Turkic world. In this context, Kubanychbek Omuraliev underlined the significance of the Middle Corridor. The Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States emphasized the importance of the upcoming Karabakh Declaration, describing it as a historic statement that would contribute significantly to the development of the organization and the realization of its forthcoming goals.
The Head of State noted that one of the top priorities of Azerbaijan’s foreign policy is the Turkic world and reiterated his statement from his inauguration ceremony at the Milli Majlis that the Turkic world is our family. The Head of State emphasized that since the signing of the Nakhchivan Agreement, the Organization of Turkic States has gone through a successful development path and has now become one of the most reputable international organizations globally. The President of Azerbaijan expressed confidence that the Karabakh Declaration, which will be signed with the participation of heads of state and government, will be of historical importance and give a significant impetus to the development of cooperation in various fields.
