President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva’s visit to the under-construction Victory Park in Baku

On September 27 – the Remembrance Day, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Victory Park in Baku, which is currently under construction. The head of state and the First Lady laid flowers in front of the commemorative stone at the entrance of the park.

In a decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev on December 3, 2020, it was mandated to create the Patriotic War Memorial Complex and Victory Museum in Baku to commemorate the unparalleled heroism of the Azerbaijani people in the Patriotic War, the magnificent historical victory achieved, and to eternalize the memory of the martyrs. In the intervening period, the project for the Patriotic War Memorial Complex and Victory Museum has been prepared. According to the project, the museum is intended to be established within the complex to commemorate the historical path to victory of the soldiers, officers and all martyrs who fought heroically in the Patriotic War. The names of all the martyrs of the Patriotic War will be engraved in the museum complex, and the exhibits collected there will demonstrate the bravery of our soldiers and officers who fought for the liberation of our lands and the determination of our people. The Victory Park, being constructed on 8 November Avenue, will cover an area of more than nine hectares.
