On April 28, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken made a phone call to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
Antony Blinken first conveyed his congratulations on the recent agreement reached regarding the delimitation of borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan, emphasizing that this achievement was appreciated by the U.S. The Secretary of State indicated that the U.S. is prepared to continue supporting the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and advancing the peace agenda.
The head of state noted that the agreement reached by the delimitation commission of the two countries was the result of dialogue and mutually understanding discussions conducted on a bilateral basis. President Ilham Aliyev also highlighted that the commencement of demarcation work along the border following the delimitation process was a positive step.
