Phone call between French President Emmanuel Macron and President Ilham Aliyev

On August 29, French President Emmanuel Macron made a phone call to the President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan. During the phone call, the head of state stated that purposeful artificial obstacles to the use of the Aghdam-Khankendi road are purposefully created by Armenia and the so-called regime created and supported by it in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, which is used for the purpose of political manipulation.

President of Azerbaijan mentioned that Armenia and the self-declared regime had refused from the initial agreement reached through the mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross for transporting cargo via the Aghdam-Khankendi road. The head of state also noted that Azerbaijan had invited representatives of the Armenian population of Karabakh to discuss reintegration issues in Baku and other Azerbaijani cities, but they had refused and were purposefully attempting to present the situation as a humanitarian crisis.
