Opening of the Shusha branch of the National Carpet Museum

On May 10, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and family members participated in the opening ceremony of the Shusha branch of the National Carpet Museum.

The building housing the Shusha branch of the National Carpet Museum was constructed in the second half of the 19th century and is located in the Upper neighborhood of the city. During the occupation, the building fell into disrepair and its historical appearance underwent alterations, leading to restoration work by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation starting in 2021. As a result of the restoration, the building’s interior walls, floors, and ceilings were restored. Cracks in the facade were repaired, and it was clad with stone.

The head of state, the first lady, and family members viewed the exhibits and artworks displayed in the museum.
