Opening of the 2nd residential complex in Aghdam and meeting with residents

On December 24, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening ceremony of the 2nd residential complex in the city of Aghdam and met with residents relocating there.

Covering an area of more than 13 hectares, the complex consists of 11 neighborhoods. 60 residential buildings have been constructed here. The complex contains a total of 1,268 apartments, including 114 one-room, 464 two-room, 536 three-room, and 154 four-room apartments. In December, it is planned to relocate 104 families (426 people) to the complex. In January–February 2026, an additional 1,164 families (4,772 people) are scheduled to be relocated.

The buildings in the complex are supplied with uninterrupted water, electricity, and high-speed internet, while the apartments are equipped with heating and hot water. Extensive landscaping and development have been carried out within the complex, nearly 5 kilometers of internal roads have been constructed, sports and children’s playgrounds, a bicycle lane, surface parking areas, and a 1,218-car underground parking lot have been created.

As part of the visit, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva also met with residents who have relocated to the city of Aghdam. In his address at the meeting, the Head of State congratulated the residents on their return to their native city. Speaking at the event, residents congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on his birthday and wished him a long life. Following the meeting, a ceremony was held to present the residents with the keys to their homes, and commemorative photographs were taken.
