Opening of Mehmandarovs’ Estate Complex in Shusha

On May 9, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva participated in the opening ceremony of the Mehmandarovs’ Estate Complex in Shusha following the restoration works conducted by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

Since October 2021, renovation works have been carried out at the Mehmandarovs’ mansion complex, including restoration of the family mosque on the premises and the roof of spring which was restored to its original condition. The roofs of the buildings and the mosque inside the complex have been renewed, and their ceilings restored. The collapsed walls of the mansion complex have been repaired, and reinforcement work has been done on damaged walls. The scattered flooring stones of the house have been reassembled, the staircase was rebuilt, and the plasterwork on the walls and ceilings has been restored based on sketch designs. The “Guldeste” of the mosque has been restored. The historical carriage in the courtyard of the residential house, dating back to the beginning of the 20th century has been restored according to the technologies of the time.

Following these efforts, a museum exhibition has been set up in the mansion complex. During the preparation of the exhibition, more than 150 antique items have been used.
