Opening of Lachin City Substation

On May 27, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev participated in the inauguration of the 110/35/10 kW Lachin City Substation owned by AzerEnergy Open Joint Stock Company. During the inauguration, the head of state activated the substation.

The 110/35/10 kW Lachin City Substation was constructed using the most modern technologies in a digital format. Simultaneously, a 110 kW transmission line stretching a total of 40 kilometers was built from the Gubadli substation to the city of Lachin, passing through the Gulebird hydroelectric power station.

Among the 11 substations with a capacity of 110 kW built by AzerEnergy OJSC in the liberated territories, the Lachin City Substation stands out because it will also serve as a junction substation for the liberated areas. The 110 kW line starting from the newly commissioned 330 kW Jabrayil energy hub and the Shukurbayli substation in Fuzuli, passing through the 110 kW Jabrayil, Zangilan, and Gubadli substations, links the Gulebird hydroelectric power station to the Lachin City Substation.

Additionally, the existing 110 kW double-circuit lines connecting the Dashkasan, Kalbajar, and Gorchu substations, as well as lines from the Shukurbayli substation to the Fuzuli and Shusha substations, will be connected to the Lachin junction substation in the future. This will establish a circular power supply for the 110 kW double-circuit lines of Karabakh and East Zangezur, ensuring uninterrupted energy supply even in the event of a line failure.

At the strategically important Lachin City Substation, a 110 kW open distribution facility and a digital control center equipped with the most modern equipment have been constructed. The control center is equipped with 35 kW and 10 kW closed distribution facilities and incorporates the SCADA dispatcher management system, which is digitally integrated into the central SCADA system of the power system. A fiber optic network has been established to enable information exchange and online monitoring of assets. Additionally, the substation is equipped with the SERGI system to protect against fire and explosions.
