Opening ceremony of the Zarislichay pumping station

On May 8, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening ceremony of the Zarislichay pumping station in the Dashalti village. During the ceremony, President Ilham Aliyev activated the pumping station.

Considering the prospective development of Shusha city and the significant decrease in primary water sources of Kichik Kiris and Zarislichay during certain periods of the year, the implementation of the project of creating an alternative water source has been started. For this purpose, a 25,000 cubic meter water reservoir, a pumping station, and a new 2.9-kilometer-long pressure pipeline with a diameter of 159 millimeters were constructed near the Zarislichay riverbed in the Dashalti village, additionally, a 5.2-kilometer section of the 9.3 kilometer-long Kichik Kirs-Shusha main water pipeline with a diameter of 325 millimeters, previously unfit for use, was replaced with pipes of 530–426 millimeters in diameter. The project to reconstruct the water supply, sewage, and stormwater systems of Shusha city, designed with its development prospects up to 2040 in mind, aims to meet the needs of 25,000 people.
