Opening ceremony of the VII Kharibulbul International Music Festival and “Shusha – Cultural Capital of the Islamic World 2024”

On May 11, the opening ceremony of the VII Kharibulbul International Music Festival and the “Shusha – Cultural Capital of the Islamic World 2024” was held at the Jidir Duzu in Shusha. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the event.

The ceremony began with speeches by President Ilham Aliyev and ICESCO Director-General Salim ben Mohamed al-Malik. Following the speeches, the opening concert took place. During the concert, a cavalry unit of 27 Karabakh horses, carrying the flags of ICESCO member countries, entered the Jidir Duzu, accompanied by the opening composition featuring all participants of the Kharibulbul Festival.

Organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture, the festival’s program was distinguished by its diverse performers and repertoire, as well as unique presentations. This year’s festival featured performers and ensembles from ICESCO member countries. The Kharibulbul International Music Festival, which has become a magnificent cultural event, included participants from Azerbaijan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Guinea, Morocco, Uzbekistan, and Türkiye.
