Opening ceremony of the Mishni small hydroelectric power station

On August 25, during their visit to the Lachin district, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening ceremony of the Mishni small hydroelectric power station, owned by Azerenergy Open Joint Stock Company. During the ceremony, the President activated the hydroelectric power station.

Located on the Hochaz River, the largest tributary of the Hakari River in Lachin, the Mishni hydroelectric power station, completely destroyed by Armenians, has been fully rebuilt following President Ilham Aliyev’s instructions.

As part of the reconstruction project of the Mishni small hydroelectric power station, the main water intake facility, a 7.2-kilometer-long diversion pipeline, and the machine hall have been rebuilt. The station is equipped with two modern eco-turbines, generators, control and automation panels with green certification of European production. A 25 megavolt-ampere 110/10 kV substation was constructed for the integration of the station into the energy system, and 18 kilometers of 110 kV power transmission and optical cable lines were installed. This substation not only serves the Mishni station but also functions as a hub for transmitting electricity generated by the Alchasli station to the national energy system. The Mishni small hydroelectric power station, fully integrated into the energy system and connected to a centralized SCADA system for remote management, will produce over 23 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.
