Opening ceremony of the Meydan small hydroelectric power station

On May 27, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev participated in the opening ceremony of the Meydan small hydroelectric power station in the Kalbajar district. During the ceremony, the head of state activated the Meydan small hydroelectric power station.  

Located on the left bank of the Meydan River, a tributary of the Tartar River in the Kalbajar district, the Meydan small hydroelectric power station with a capacity of 3.4 MW has been completely rebuilt by AzerEnergy OJSC. The station features a new machine hall, modern hydro turbines, generators, control, protective relay and automation panels. Additionally, a new headrace intake structure at an altitude of 1590 meters and a 4564-meter-long derivation pipe have been reinstalled. The Meydan small hydroelectric power station is integrated into the power grid and equipped with a centralized SCADA system for remote management. A 45 kWA standby diesel generator has also been installed on site for emergency situations. The reconstructed Meydan small hydroelectric power station is expected to generate 10 million kWh of electricity annually.
