Opening ceremony of the Jahangirbeyli Hydroelectric Power Station in Zangilan

On September 28, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the Jahangirbeyli hydroelectric power station, operated by Azerenergy OJSC. During the ceremony, the head of state officially inaugurated the Jahangirbeyli hydroelectric power station.

In line with President Ilham Aliyev’s directive to create new “green energy” potential in the liberated areas, Azerenergy OJSC commenced the construction of a series of four hydroelectric power stations (HEPS), each station with a capacity of 10.5 megawatts, totaling an overall capacity of 42 megawatts, along the Oxchuchay River, which runs through the Zangilan district, in the fall of 2022. Work has been completed at the Jahangirbeyli HEPS, while projects at the Sarigishlag, Shayifly, and Zangilan HEPS are nearing completion.
