Opening Ceremony of the “Garabagh” Hotel

The opening ceremony of the newly reconstructed “Garabagh” hotel in Shusha, the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, was held. On August 29, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the ceremony.

The hotel, which was built in 1980, ceased operations in May 1992 as a result of the occupation of Shusha and has fallen into disrepair due to neglect. After the liberation of Shusha from the Armenian occupation, the restoration and reconstruction work started in the hotel in 2021 on President Ilham Aliyev’s instructions. All conditions have been created in the hotel that has been brought to a modern level for the comfort of the guests who will visit the city of Shusha. There are different room categories in the hotel. The restaurant and bar in the building will be available for guests. A conference room has been set up at the hotel for business meetings and events. A parking lot has also been built in the hotel area. The park area close to the hotel has been landscaped, fountains have been built, and the park has been restored to its pre-occupation appearance.
