Opening ceremony of the Flag Square in Shusha

On September 19, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of the Flag Square in Shusha.

Reconstruction works on the Flag Square began in May 2024. The design of the square was developed by the Baku State Design Institute based on a concept by the Chapman Taylor company.

The Flag Square is surrounded by an amphitheater. The total area of ​​the territory is 9,190 square meters, the ​​green space is 3,693 square meters, and the height of the flagpole is 11.7 meters. The vast majority of the existing perennial plants in the area were preserved and integrated into the design. Local flora, including plane trees, were used in the landscaping. Modern seating and a lighting system have also been installed here.

In accordance with the Master Plan of the city of Shusha, it is planned to build a Victory Museum, a multifunctional concert hall, and a shopping center around the Flag Square.
