Opening ceremony of the Barda–Aghdam highway

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev participated in the opening of the Barda–Aghdam highway.

The foundation of Barda–Aghdam highway, one of the infrastructure projects implemented in the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions, was laid by President Ilham Aliyev on May 28, 2021. Starting from the city of Barda, the highway is 44.5 kilometers long. The highway is constructed according to the 1st technical degree with four lanes.

The construction of 91.3-meter and 18.2-meter-long road bridges on the 25th and 40th kilometers, 66-meter and 43-meter-long road junctions on the 14th and 42nd kilometer sections and overpasses on the 4th, 14th and 16th kilometer sections of the Barda–Aghdam highway were successfully completed. The first 14 kilometers of the highway pass through Barda city and several settlements in the district. Overall, the highway covers more than 20 settlements of those districts, including the cities of Barda and Aghdam.
