Official Visit of President of the Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Shusha and the Signing of the Shusha Declaration

President of the Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan paid an official visit to Shusha on June 15. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev welcomed President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his wife Emine Erdogan in Fuzuli district and the heads of state then headed to Shusha city.

An official welcome ceremony has been held for the President of the Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Shusha. A guard of honor was arranged for the President of Turkiye in the square decorated with the national flags of the two countries, and the state anthems of the Republic of Turkiye and the Republic of Azerbaijan were played.

President Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a one-on-one meeting after the official welcome ceremony. After the one-on-one meeting, President Ilham Aliyev and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan signed the “Shusha Declaration on allied relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Turkiye.”

During their visit to Shusha, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and President of the Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan, First Lady Emine Erdogan have visited the monuments of prominent figures Natavan, Bulbul, and Uzeyir Hajibayli as well as “Khan gizi” spring.
