Meeting with residents who moved to Khojaly city

On May 28, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and their daughter Arzu Aliyeva met with the residents who have recently moved to Khojaly city. Following the meeting, the head of state and First Lady handed over the keys of the houses to the residents.

Later, President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and their daughter Arzu Aliyeva toured the city of Khojaly together with the residents, and got acquainted with the AzeRobot Education robotics training center in Khojaly, the Nakhishli workshop, the Gilabi Ceramic workshop and Sariban vocational development center. Later, President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and their daughter Arzu Aliyeva were informed about the Master Plan of Khojaly city.

The first stage of reconstruction of Khojaly city consists of two parts, 167 hectares and 18 hectares. In the 167-hectare area, construction, renovation, and landscaping work are underway for 140 individual houses, 48 cottage-style houses, and 110 apartments in nine buildings. All communication lines have been placed underground, with connections provided to the first 50 houses. Approximately 90% of the city’s communication work has been completed. Additionally, construction, renovation, and landscaping work are ongoing for 92 Finnish-type houses on an 18-hectare area. Further developments include the construction of a boulevard along the river at the city entrance. Opposite the boulevard, a bazaar and catering facilities are being built.

A secondary educational institution and a kindergarten were also built in the city of Khojaly. A park is located in front of the school, with an artist district nearby. The sports complex is also being completed. Necessary conditions will be created in the complex for practicing chess, judo, wrestling, gymnastics, table tennis, basketball, mini-football, and badminton. Infrastructure works are expected to be completed soon.
