Meeting with residents of Kalbajar and presenting of apartment keys

On August 21, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva inspected the living conditions created in individual and multi-storey houses within the territory of the first residential complex in the city of Kalbajar. The Head of State met with the resettled residents and presented them with the apartment keys.

In his address during the meeting, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the historic significance of returning to the homeland after 32 years, noting that justice and rightful claims had been restored. The Head of State also highlighted that, within the framework of the Great Return Program, the construction of four residential complexes is envisaged in Kalbajar at the first stage, designed to accommodate more than 10,000 people.

The city has already completed the provision of electricity, water, natural gas, and road infrastructure, as well as demining operations. At present, construction works are underway for a new school building.
