Master Plan of the Shusha City and Groundbreaking Ceremony of the First Neighborhood (mahalla)

The master plan of the city of Shusha was presented to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva on August 29, and President Ilham Aliyev laid a foundation stone for the first neighborhood.

The preservation of the historical grandeur of the Shusha city was taken as a basis while preparing its master plan. All the projects implemented in our cultural capital will be based on the combination of history and modernity. The construction of various residential buildings, the location of the city center, new historic buildings, and monuments in Shusha find their reflection in the presented master plan.

Along with the existing 36.2 km of roads in the city, it is also planned to build 17.6 km of new roads. Public parking location has also been determined in the city master plan. The construction of green corridors for preserving and developing greenery and landscape in accordance with the city’s topography is also planned. The new housing estate, with a total area of ​​46,765 square meters in Shusha, will consist of 6 neighborhoods. The population for the neighborhoods is estimated at 2020 people. It is planned to have 25 buildings in the residential area. The 3, 4, and 5-storey buildings in the first neighborhood that was laid on August 29 will be built in the typical architectural style of Shusha.
