Interview of President Ilham Aliyev to TV channels in Munich

On February 18, following the joint meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev gave an interview to TV channels in Munich.

During the interview, President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that the meeting was constructive and that many issues were discussed, including the signing of the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as there was an exchange of views on the conditions necessary for signing the agreement and the main issue was that this peace agreement should be drafted based on international norms and principles, furthermore it was noted that any provision about Karabakh would be unacceptable. Noting that three days ago, Armenia responded to Azerbaijan’s proposals in this direction and that at first glance there seemed to be progress in Armenia’s position, the head of our country emphasized that during the meeting they also touched upon the situation on the Lachin-Khankendi road and, in turn, reiterated Azerbaijan’s position that there is no question of any blockade.
