Inspection of the new buildings of Yasaman Hotel in Shusha

On July 11, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev inspected the new buildings of the Yasaman hotel, restored by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, in Shusha.

The Yasaman Hotel was inaugurated in 2023 with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva. Restored in accordance with its original appearance, the hotel’s exterior and interior were designed in the style of Shusha’s medieval architecture. Originally built in the mid-19th century in the style of the  Karabakh architectural school, the building was destroyed during the occupation. The Heydar Aliyev Foundation carried out the design and restoration work, and since 2023, two buildings of the hotel have been welcoming guests. Restoration and construction have now been completed on four additional buildings that form the hotel’s new accommodation units.

The restoration project was planned according to a new concept based on the architectural features of traditional Shusha houses. The new boutique-style buildings include glazed verandas and terrace areas. The doors and windows were recreated in their original architectural style using archival photographs taken before the restoration. Landscaping and greening works have also been carried out in the surrounding courtyard area.
