On May 17, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko visited the destroyed areas of Fuzuli city and reviewed the city’s Master Plan. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko was briefed on the destruction, acts of vandalism committed by the occupying Armenian forces over the 30 years in the Fuzuli district, as well as the ongoing and planned reconstruction efforts according to the Master Plan.
The Master Plan envisions expanding the administrative area of Fuzuli city to 1,943 hectares and increasing the population to 50,000 by 2040. Fuzuli is set to become one of the largest cities in the liberated territories, constructed in accordance with modern standards and architectural features. The Smart City concept has been put forward in order to make traditional networks and services more efficient by using digital solutions that will contribute to the sustainable development of the city of Fuzuli and the well-being of residents and entrepreneurs.
Three residential complexes are being built that will meet all the modern requirements of urban planning. There will be a total of 2,462 apartments in the complexes. According to the Master Plan, a Central Park will be created on approximately 22.5 hectares area. The ruins of the destroyed buildings will be preserved as they are in the Fuzuli Memorial Complex. Occupation and Victory Museums will be built in the complex. A new 180-bed Fuzuli District Central Hospital, equipped with the latest medical technology, will be constructed to provide high-quality medical care.
