Inspection of restoration work in the village of Kichik Galaderesi and meeting with residents
On July 11, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev inspected the restoration of individual homes and infrastructure in the village of Kichik Galaderesi in the Shusha district and met with residents who have returned to the village.
Kichik Galaderesi village is part of the Galaderesi administrative-territorial district of the Shusha district and is located 40 kilometres southwest of the district center. The village was occupied by Armenian armed forces in 1992 and was liberated following the anti-terror measures conducted in 2023. Before the occupation, the residents were primarily engaged in livestock farming, vegetable cultivation, and beekeeping, the village had a secondary school, a kindergarten, a cultural center, a library, a medical station, and a communications office.
Of the 66 individual houses in Kichik Galaderesi, 19 are beyond repair, while 47 are partially usable. Of the partially usable homes, 26 have already been restored and made ready for occupancy, while the restoration of the remaining 21 houses is expected to be completed next year. During the initial phase, 15 families (51 people) returned to the village, and by the end of the year, another 11 families (45 people) are expected to return.
A number of projects have been carried out to develop the village’s social infrastructure. New gas and water pipelines have been installed, an artesian well has been restored, and 26 individual homes have been connected to the water supply network. In addition, a transformer substation has been installed, overhead power lines have been repaired, internal village roads have been asphalted, a park and a flag square have been built for the residents’ recreation.
The Head of State visited the home of village resident Asad Asadov and later met with the residents who had returned to Kichik Galaderesi. Then, commemorative photographs were taken.
