Inspection of construction progress in the village of Bash Garvand
On July 14, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Slovak Republic Peter Pellegrini, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, inspected construction progress in the village of Bash Garvand in the Aghdam district.
The village of Bash Garvand is located on the right side of the Barda–Aghdam highway and the Barda–Aghdam railway line, 18 kilometers from the center of the city of Aghdam. After remaining under Armenian occupation for many years, the village was liberated on November 20, 2020. President Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation stone for the village on December 24, 2023.
Construction of the village, which covers a total area of nearly 480 hectares, will be carried out in two phases. The first phase will cover more than 200 hectares and include the construction of 851 private houses to accommodate 3,703 residents. Of these, 170 will be two-room houses, 417 three-room houses, 145 four-room houses, and 119 five-room houses.
Essential social infrastructure is currently being established in the village, administrative and public service buildings are under construction. These will include a multifunctional administrative building, a medical station, a secondary school, and kindergartens. In addition, roads with a total length of 35 kilometres are being built, while communication, electricity, gas, drinking water and sewage networks are being installed. Alternative energy sources will also be used to improve energy efficiency.
As part of their inspection of the ongoing development works, the heads of state also viewed the conditions created in a newly constructed house in the village.
