Inauguration ceremony of the Shusha substation

On May 12, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva, and their daughters Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva attended the opening ceremony of the 110/35/10 kV Shusha substation.

To connect the city of Shusha to Azerbaijan’s unified energy system and ensure a reliable, stable, and uninterrupted power supply, the construction of the Shusha substation and the 110 kV Shukurbayli–Shusha overhead power transmission line, stretching 75 kilometers from the Shukurbayli substation in the Fuzuli district, was launched in December of the previous year. The substation is fully digitalized and connected to the remotely operated SCADA dispatch control system. Prospects for future development have been taken into account. Despite the challenging geographical conditions, the construction of the substation and the transmission line was completed in record time. The dual-circuit 110 kV transmission line from the Shukurbayli substation in Fuzuli to Shusha was built continuously on a shift basis within just 73 days, a record achievement in the region’s energy history.
