On May 5, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the inauguration of the 8.2-kilometer section of the Shukurbayli–Jabrayil–Hadrut highway.

The old road, which was 42 kilometers long, has been shortened by 2.3 kilometers and replaced with a new 39.7-kilometer road. The width of the road’s carriageway is 14.5 meters, and the width of the roadbed is 21.5 meters.

The Shukurbayli–Jabrayil–Hadrut highway has been built according to the first technical grade with four traffic lanes. The construction of six bridges along the road has been completed. Eighteen bus stops have been installed along the route. The new highway passes through the liberated territories of Khojavend, Fuzuli, and Jabrayil districts. The highway will cover about 20 settlements of those districts, including Hadrut settlement and Jabrayil city.
