Inauguration ceremony of the Khachinchay reservoir in the Aghdam district after renovation

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration ceremony of the Khachinchay Reservoir in the Aghdam district after its renovation. During the ceremony, the head of state officially activated the reservoir.

The renovation and restoration of the Khachinchay Reservoir included a 7-kilometer-long canal. The Khachinchay reservoir, located in the Aghdam district, was originally put into operation in 1964. It has a total water capacity of 23 million cubic meters, a dam height of 44 meters, a length of 940 meters, and a water surface area of 176 hectares.

According to the technical scheme, the water entering the Khachinchay reservoir is regulated and channeled into the main canal, which has a discharge capacity of 3.2 cubic meters per second. The initial 6.64 kilometers of the canal, along with the dam, have been renovated and restored. The reservoir area now includes a new administrative building, a watchtower, a repair workshop, and a pump station.
