Groundbreaking of the Tunnel on the Kalbajar-Lachin Highway

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation for a 3.4-kilometer tunnel to be built on the Kalbajar-Lachin highway on August 16.

The length of the Kalbajar-Lachin highway is 72.8 kilometers. The width of the carriageway, which will be built in accordance with the first and second technical categories, will be 9-16 meters. Underpasses and bridges will be built on the road, which will have two and four lanes. The construction of three tunnels will be carried out on the road as well. The total length of the tunnels will be 9,450 meters.
