Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Istisu Sanatorium

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended a groundbreaking ceremony for the Istisu sanatorium in the Kalbadjar district on June 26 and laid its foundation.

The “Istisu” Recreation and Treatment Complex, to be built on an area of 34 hectares, would be able to receive 300 people daily. Along with the recovery-health center, there are plans to build 10 cottages in the complex.

In 1928, a sanatorium of the same name was established around the “Istisu” spring, the famous mineral water of Istisu village in Kalbajar. The sanatorium, rendered unusable during the years of occupation, will be completely restored to its former glory.
