Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Barda-Aghdam Highway

During his visit to Aghdam on May 28, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended a groundbreaking ceremony of the Barda-Aghdam highway and laid foundation of the road.

The project is part of the large-scale construction work on reconstructing road infrastructure in the liberated territories upon Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev’s instructions.

The highway length is 44.5 km. Its 14-kilometer part will pass through Barda town and several other settlements.

Under the instruction of the head of state, given the development plan of Karabakh, the highway will consist of four traffic lanes. The highway will cover more than 20 settlements in Barda and Aghdam regions, including Barda and Aghdam towns.
