On May 18, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the Minjivan settlement in the Zangilan district. The head of state laid the foundation for the Minjivan settlement.
The planned area of the Minjivan settlement is located 13.2 kilometers southeast of the district center, on the banks of the Aras River, along the Ahmadbayli–Horadiz–Minjivan–Aghbend highway and the Horadiz–Aghbend railway line. The settlement spans 301.51 hectares. By 2040, it is planned to construct 630 individual houses and several multi-story residential buildings to accommodate 9,088 people. According to the “First State Program on the Great Return”, the area designed for the first phase covers 153.4 hectares. At this stage, the construction of four multi-story residential buildings consisting of 628 private houses and 92 apartments is planned for the relocation of 3146 people to Minjivan settlement.
