On May 18, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the village of Karkhulu in the Jabrayil district. The head of state laid the foundation for the Karkhulu village.
Karkhulu village, located within the administrative territory of the Jabrayil district, is bordered to the north by the Ahmadbayli–Horadiz–Minjivan–Aghbend highway and to the south and southeast by the Horadiz–Aghbend railway line. By 2040, the planned area of the village is set to cover 313 hectares, design and construction of 940 individual houses and several multi-story block buildings to accommodate 4,428 residents is planned. In line with the “First State Program on the Great Return” covering the period until 2026, the area designed for the first phase spans 125 hectares. During this phase, it is planned to design and build 145 individual houses for 691 residents.
