On May 5, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the first residential quarter in the village of Tugh in the Khojavend district. During the ceremony, the head of state laid the foundation for the first residential quarter in the Tugh village.
The first residential area, with a total area of nearly 99 hectares, will be established in accordance with the approved Master Plan of the Tugh village. In the first phase, 24 historic individual houses will be restored to accommodate 1,089 residents and 95 houses will be newly built. In the subsequent phases, the construction of 244 new individual houses is planned. The residential quarter will also include a 360-seat school building, a 50-seat kindergarten, shopping centers, a mosque, a church, a medical center, a pharmacy, a sports and health area, and a vegetable and fruit storage facility.
